Like many artists, I am fascinated by the way light interacts with objects. I find inspiration for my art in how it reflects and refracts off water, filters through leaves, sparkles in the air or creates ever changing colors.

Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. People who report a lifelong history of such experiences are known as synesthetes.
I am a synesthete. I see letters, numbers and time in color. This collection is my depiction of months of my year.

I am a cat lover. One evening, I looked at my two cats and started naming their paint colors. Switters, a large orange tabby, is raw sienna, mixed with creams and ochres and gold green accents to match his eyes. Miss Jelly was a rotund, muted calico with charcoal grays, cream, patches of raw sienna and green-eyed accents. The next day I painted the small pet abstracts in their colors.
I will be expanding this series to include many types of colorings. If you are interested in having an abstract painting based on your pet - whether it be feline, canine or any other type of pet or animal - send me a message.

This collection was inspired by my own walk down the aisle. There is so much beauty in the architecture, form and intricate details of bridal gowns. Whether they are simple or ornate, I am fascinated by the way the light interfaces with folds of fabric and how it flickers off embellishments. In many ways, the dress is the symbol of a bride’s personal journey--reflecting her style, her history, her family. So much thought and time go into choosing the right dress, but then it’s worn once and stored away. I wanted to create a representation of my own dress that I could display without wearing my gown around the house, which is frowned upon for some reason.
Enjoy!

The structure of plants and flowers has always intrigued me. This is a series of work that I completed under my maiden name (Wood).

I am a proud owner of a 1976 Scamp travel trailer. It is tiny, but has brought me much joy and inspiration.

The Bees of Bee Cave will be a public art exhibition featuring 10 Bee Sculptures designed by local artists. The bees will be featured at the Hill Country Galleria, located in Bee Cave Texas. The bees will be on display for 6 months, then enter into an auction to be moved to their permanent homes. I was chosen as one of the artists and this is my Bee Dazzled bee.
